What questions to ask a lawyer about child custody
The first consultation with a lawyer can very often cause us fear and anxiety. We wonder what questions to ask and how the consultation will proceed. In today’s article, we would like to show you what questions you can ask a lawyer regarding matters related to parental authority.
What types of parental authority exist in the Polish legal system?
First of all, when deciding to start a parental authority case it is worth asking a lawyer to explain the ways in which parental authority is exercised. It should be pointed out that in the Polish legal system we deal with three types of parental authority, namely full parental authority, limited parental authority and termination of parental authority.
What are the differences between the different types of parental authority ?
The next question is undoubtedly to ask for an explanation of the differences arising from each type of parental authority. It is important to bear in mind that each type differs and the parent has different rights and responsibilities.
What documents will I need to start my case?
You should also bear in mind that evidence is very important in court. Therefore, it is important to find out what documents we need to collect to start a case and to support our position.
Does the father have a chance to obtain full parental authority and take custody of the child?
We often come across questions of this type. Unfortunately we are not able to give a clear answer to this question. It should be noted, however, that very often the mother is considered the primary parent, but each case is examined and evaluated individually by the court.
Of course, it is important to remember that these are only examples of questions we can ask a lawyer during a meeting about parental authority. Additionally, a lawyer is a professional and will certainly be helpful during the first meeting. We are aware that each case is individual.
